STORYTELLING FOR: Libraries
2009 Summer Reading Program
For this year's "Be Creative" and "Express Yourself" Summer Reading Program themes, Louise is thinking of STORIES about artists, artisans, musicans, poets, and the like. Magic paintbrushes, ukeleles and poetry that saves the day!
Louise lives in Pittsboro at Clapping Hands Farm, where for the past 10 years she has run an Arts and Nature focused Summer Camp program.
In the "Be Creative" spirit Louise louise is offering an ART MAKING workshop for summer reading this year that would focus on creating characters and scenes from STORIES. Your choice of a variety of puppet styles, hexaflexagons (an amazing mathmatical toy made of paper that would offer three side to illustrate a tale), origami story scenes, clothes pin doll characters, "toy theatres" in a shoe box, etc.
